Leaderships Background

Dr. Jessica J. Brown (Dr. JB) uses she/her pronouns. Dr. JB  is a dynamic leader passionate about community and inclusion! Hailing from Grand Rapids, MI, Dr. JB has spent the past ten years in Illinois, where her career took off as a seasonal employee with the City of Kalamazoo District. This pivotal experience fueled her enthusiasm for work and community involvement, leading her to a remarkable journey in higher education that began in 2014 as the head women's volleyball coach and senior women's administrator.

Since then, Dr. JB has reached impressive milestones, including her promotion to Title IX Coordinator and subsequently to Vice President of Student Affairs and Athletics at North Central College. She has made a significant impact, overseeing 26 varsity-level sports and contributing to four national championships!

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Dr. JB is devoted to mentoring Black girls and women, sharing her insights at conferences, and tirelessly working to uplift others. 

WHY THE PIVOT TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP?

After 10-years in higher education Dr. JB decided to find an alternative way to serve the community. After living in an apartment complex that offered valet trash service Dr. JB decided to join the efforts to not only serve the community but to ensure those who may not be accustomed to a luxury service would have access to sure service.

Brownz Enterprise Trash Valet takes pride in being able to serve all community members.
